Winter Beach Erosion

Well its winter in Wellfleet. For the most part its quite, getting cold, and we’re expecting snow. The subject of big excitement around town is the amount of erosion that the ocean-side has sustained so far. The only ocean beach in Wellfleet you can get down the dune at is Newcomb Hollow the rest of the beaches have at least a twenty foot vertical drop. The worst of the erosion so far has happened at LeCount Hollow, a large portion of the parking lot has been closed and a house abutting the lot is partly hanging over the cliff and has to be demolished.
