This year the Wellfleet Bay Audubon and volunteers have rescued record numbers of stranded cold stunned sea turtles from Cape Cod’s bayside beaches including a number of endangered Kemp Ridley’s sea turtles. If you come across a cold stunned turtle while walking on the beach move it above the high tide line, cover it with seaweed and mark its location with whatever is available. Then call the Audubon at 508-349-2615 and leave a message as to its location, being specific as possible and giving the nearest beach access so that it can be recovered and cared for as quickly as possible!
